Elvis!

We went to the canyon ranch spa in Venetian to hamper ourselves before wedding.

After a nice jacuzzi and sauna session, Andy had a barbar's wet shave and I had my nails done. I wanna say we are ready for tomorrow's wedding, but we've delayed our dress fitting till tomorrow morning. That's so us, always lastminute.com...

In the evening, we planned to go to the cheesecake factory for dinner but there was a massive que when we got there. Since we'd already booked the Elvis show for later on, we decided to have food in the food court. It was actually very nice. We sat all together like a big family. I really enjoyed it:)

Now, Elvis! 90 minutes went so quickly. That was a great show with full of Elvis. Near the end of the show lots of red scarfs came from the sky, everyone stood up and kind of shaking the bum like Elvis, brilliant night!

So...., tomorrow is... our wedding day... :)

Las Vegas, baby!

Here we are in Las Vegas! It's nice and warm:)

We've checked in at Mandarin Oriental. Since the hotel hasn't got a casino, it seems quiet compared to the other hotel. When I first stepped in the hotel room, it was like "wow, this is too good..." Especially the bath room is awesome. The shower, bath tab and the toilet are all kind of separated and the whole space is huge. The bathroom is well equipped with accessories such as hair drier, hair straightener, and so on...

We've met up with Andy's family, and we're going to see my family tonight. We're gonna get all together gather:)

Last Day in NY

Last day in NY, one place we left to go, Central Park! we'd got carried away with our NY bagel search, which we hadn't had much luck till that point. When we get to the park, it was already dark but we went in anyway.

"Are we human or are we monkeys..." we heard from the distance. Is Killers doing secret concert? Really? We were led towards where the sound came from. Unfortunately, it wasn't real Killers, but we found an ice skating link. "Shall we?" "Yeah, why not." So, that's how I put my first skating shoes on. Fall on my bum twice, not too but for the first attempt, I think....

Our bagel search continued....

Finally, we found what looks like a real NY deli cafe. Yes! they have them.
We've got one with Philadelphia cream cheese, the other with peanut butter and jelly.
Hoo hoo hoo... what a bagel....
I had to have one more. I guess I don't need to mention how good they were.

Off to Las Vegas....

Day 2 and Day 3 in NY

On the day 2, I was still feeling jet lagged and tired.... so we took it easy.
Wondering around the Time square area, we found M&M shop. There are lots of cool novelty goods, and of course various flavour of M&M chocolate.

Near the M&M shop, there is the Hershey's shop. Although the shop was small, they had quite a good rage of chocolate including the giant Kiss, Hershey's chocolate sauce. The huge Hershey's chocolate sauce was disappointingly empty;(... I guess I can full it up....

Since we didn't want to go too far from the central, we headed to the famous department store, Macy's. More shopping... no, not for me... Andy's got a new pair of jeans with a very good price. When you shop at Macy's, go to the visitors center first to get 10% discount:)

For dinner, we went to the Restaurant row where American, Italian, French, Asian, and many more cuisines from all over the world are literally lined up next to each other. We've pick an Italian. The atmosphere was homely and the food tasted very authentic.

Day 3.... the ultimate-tourist-day:)
Start with the Wall Street. Because it was Sunday, there were only tourists and looked pretty quiet.
Followed by....Yes, the Statue of Liberty:) Not only that, we went on a helicopter tour! Amazing view from the sky.
Sexy, huh?

Don't forget the thick bready American pizza and Slurpee from Seven Eleven:)

"When you see the circular building in NY, that's the Madison square gardens." said the helicopter pilot, so this must be the one....

Walking towards to the Empire State Building, we lost it at some point...
We looked up on the map. It seemed that we are very close... how come that we don't see it...? Andy asked a couple where the building is... the guy went, "it's... three thirty..four.., oh man, it's here!" yes, we were right under the building. That explains why we didn't see it.

Anyway..., we went up to the 86th floor where you can go out on the outside view area.

Wow, I felt like I was thrown into a sea of the night lights... I was in the such a height that it didn't feel real but just like the town was made by Legos or something....

It was bloody windy and freezing up there but definitely worth going up there:)

Getting distracted the whole day.

Honestly..., I've never been to a city that is this busy and full of huge adverts...

In the morning, we went to the Starbucks to get tea, and we were going to come back to the hotel room to leave the laptop. However, when we came out from the coffee shop, we were caught by a few shops. Then, more and more...

I was literally looking up the building and adverts while I was walking. I thought I was going to get a neck ache.

Since we carried away walking and got quite away from the hotel, we decided to stay out and do some shopping.

First, we went to GAP. I walked straight to the kids section. One of the great things about America is that the kids clothes size goes up to the size that I can wear.

Next, we took the subway to get to the shopping centre that Andy's friend recommended, called 21th Century in the World Trade Centre area. They sell designer clothes with a discount price, which is a pretty good deal. However, there are so many people... it's definitely better to go there first thing in the morning before people start messing around the place.

By the time we got back to the Time Square, it was already getting dark. Time really flew today. We headed back to the hotel to put our feet up a bit before dinner.

We went out again to get dinner. Having distracted by shops again, we finally made it to an American diner look like restaurant. There are catfish dishes on the menu. Though we've never tried it, and I was bit nervous about it, we-are-on-holiday mood made us be adventurous. They had a distinctive smell but was nicely fried and quite good. The main was the Garden salad with blue cheese source for me, and BBQ Ribs for Andy. Oooh, la la...., they were huge! Especially Andy's dish came with a corn cake, corn, mac & cheese and apple compote. Looking at them I was already feeling a bit full.

There is always a space for dessert... yes, that's right. We had New York Cheese Cake. Simply, delicious:) although I couldn't finish the salad, we've destroyed the cake. It was that good:)

Back to the hotel with a uber-full stomach and a slightly aching legs from walking, all I need now is a lying down... I can get used to this....

We are in New York!!

Yeeh yaap, we are in New York! Last night I've jumped straight into bed when we arrived in the Night Hotel where we're staying. I'Ve had a pretty good night sleep and don't feel jet lagged, so that's good:)
I'm having my first Starbucks in America (I'm a big fan of them!) ooh, man! the Starbucks staffs here is so friendly, love it! I can't believe I'd never waited to come here before.
First thing today, I'm going to get a new pair of jeans, since the zip of my jeans has broken on the plane..., and I had only one pair, embarrassing...

Well, well, well, let't get started and be total tourists, shall we? ;)
